Nuremberg sausage is a Bavarian dish, traditionally eaten with sauerkraut and medium-hot mustard. Quick to prepare, it's one of my favorite dishes!

Peel and chop the onion, then sauté until translucent in oil.
Add sugar and caramelize briefly.
Add the sauerkraut and stir (I used ready-made sauerkraut from a jar, but if you have the patience, you can of course make your own).
Add the bay leaf and juniper berries to the pan and roast with it.
Fill with broth and let it cook for 1 hour until the liquid is reduced.
If you like, you can add lard.
In another pan, fry the Nuremberg sausages in oil until they are cooked through and nicely golden-brown.
Enjoy your meal!!!!
